February 22, 2019 - Rancho San Diego, California
With scattered showers and a cool breeze, the weather was reminiscent of Ireland. The conditions were perfect for the Perfect Pour Competition. In the name of fun and charity, members of the San Diego Law Enforcement Emerald Society would compete against the San Diego Firefighters Emerald Society with the goal of pouring the Perfect Pint of Guinness.
Spirits were high as the event kicked off with the San Diego Firefighters Emerald Society Pipes & Drums marching into the back patio at Hooley's.
Guinness Ambasador Eoghain Clavin was the master of ceremonies determined the winner of each round. Pints were poured and dreams of the championship faded away when the contestant's pint failed to be "proud of the rim".
The competition was fierce, but friendly. Defying all the odds, and ignoring all of the rules of the "proper Guinness pour, past SDLEES Treasurer Kim Beales emerged as Champion, earning the highly coveted Perpetual Pint Trophy.
Thank you to Hooley's, General Manager Katherine, Guinness, Ambassador Eoghain Clavin, the band and other members of the San Diego Firefighters Emerald Society and everyone that attended this event.
